Scoliosis is a condition in the spine characterized by its curvature, commonly occurring during adolescence. Scoliosis among adolescents is called adolescent scoliosis. Having been diagnosed with such a condition induces various challenges in an individual’s day-to-day life. This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and coping strategies of adolescents with scoliosis. In this study, the researchers conducted semi-structured interviews with and non-participant observations on three (3) adolescents with scoliosis from Valenzuela City School of Mathematics and Science. Using the inductive reflexive thematic analysis, the researchers generated codes and categorized them to analyze and develop a comprehensive understanding of the day-to-day experiences of adolescents with scoliosis. This study demonstrates that adolescents with scoliosis face physical and psychosocial problems. In response, they use coping strategies to alleviate these challenges that benefit them in performing various physical activities, alleviating the physical discomforts brought by scoliosis, and improving their psychological well-being.
